At Acacia Marquees we provide marquee hire for weddings, private celebrations and special events across Herefordshire, Powys and the surrounding countryside.

While many of our installations are wedding marquees, our clearspan structures are equally suited to garden parties, shows, corporate events and family celebrations.

Based near Hay-on-Wye, we help clients transform outdoor spaces into practical and welcoming venues, providing marquees along with flooring, lighting, tables and seating.

What we offer..

Tables and Chair Hire

First impressions start at the table. We offer a curated range of furniture to complement any marquee setting — from lime-washed Chiavari chairs and rustic oak cross-backs to 6ft trestle tables and round dining tables. All furniture is delivered, positioned and collected as part of your hire package across Herefordshire, Powys and South Wales.

Lighting and Electrical

Lighting is what transforms a marquee from a daytime reception space into an evening atmosphere unlike any other. We design and install bespoke lighting packages — from festoon canopies and fairy light ceilings to LED uplighters, drop pendants and dance floor lighting. All electrical installations are fully PAT tested and safely installed by our team.

Dance Floor Hire

No wedding reception is complete without a dance floor. We offer oak parquet, white acrylic and classic black and white chequerboard options, all sized to your evening guest numbers. Our dance floors are available alongside any marquee hire across Herefordshire, Powys and South Wales.

Flooring

A well-chosen floor makes a marquee feel complete from the ground up. We offer coir matting with waterproof membrane for a natural countryside feel, and wooden sub-floor combined with new cord carpet for a warmer, more formal finish. The right choice depends on your site, your season and your style — we'll advise on the best option during your free site visit.

Marquees

Our clear-span aluminium marquees are modular by design — meaning we can create virtually any size or shape to suit your site, your guest count and your vision. From intimate garden receptions to large showground structures, our frames are strong, weatherproof and fully adaptable. With over 20 years of experience in the events industry, we'll talk you through every sizing, configuration and style option during your free site visit.

Internal Linings

The interior finish of your marquee sets the entire mood of your event. We offer a range of lining options — from elegant ivory drape linings to Blackout Starcloth; Clear window walls that frame your surroundings and clear roof sections that bring the sky inside. Frequently Asked Questions

  • Spring and Summer is our busiest time, dates within these months can be booked up years in advance. Six to twelve months before the date of the event is recommended, however its always best to check your dates if you have a specific weekend in mind.

  • No, we supply pretty much anything you need for your event.

    We have a standard range of furnishings, decorations, flooring and lighting, and furniture.

    We have an excellent list of suppliers that we use for other services i.e. catering, toilets. These can be arranged through us or indeed we can pass this information on to you to arrange yourselves.

  • This is the question we get asked the most. Each marquee request we receive is tailor-made to the specifics of the customer's requirements, therefore the cost can vary enormously.

    As a guide, the marquee and equipment hire can cost anything between £15 - £50 per head. You can try out our "wedding marquee cost estimator" here.

  • This depends on the size of the marquee required but as a guide, a typical garden party marquee would be erected within a day whilst a wedding marquee would typically take between two and four days to complete.

  • As the marquee is a temporary structure then it is unlikely that you will need planning permission. You would however require permission if the marquee was to remain for a period longer than 28 days. In this instance you local council would have to be consulted

  • We use an aluminum frame or "clear-span" structure that is modular in design. This means that we have the flexibility to create the most suitable size or shape for your needs and available space. Usually, the number of guests attending the event is a good indicator of the required size.
